A New Season

Beth and I are excited about new season in our lives. In a true leap of faith, Beth resigned her teaching job this summer to be free for ministry opportunities. She now serves as Administrator of the Greenhouse Regional Church Movement. Father William Beasley started the church planting ministry. Beth and the Beasleys have known each other, and served in ministry together for 20 years.

Beth is playing the piano for our Greenhouse family at Sagrado Corazon de Jesus. (She is fluent in Spanish). They meet on Sunday afternoons in the Jefferson Park neighborhood of Chicago. I'm also taking a leap of faith, serving as lay catechist in training (lay pastor) for an English-speaking congregation that will meet at the same time as Sagrado Corazon. Many of the "second generation" teens and young adults prefer to worship and learn about God in their heart language, which is English.

Beth truly took a leap of faith in that her position is support-based. We know that God will provide as she continues in a role that seems made for her. I am a volunteer right now and continue with my job as a television news writer; which includes editing video and producing news content on deadline.

I helped serve communion for the first time yesterday. It was quite overwhelming and also quite a blessing, too.

Our Greenhouse mission is aligned with the Anglican Church of North America.

It is a new season, indeed. God is funny, and good!

Alan
