Last weekend, we really felt a sense of community, at our new church home, South Park Church in Park Ridge. Friday night we met to share our testimonies in the final session of the new members class. It was fascinating and strengthening to hear everyone's story of how they came to personal, saving faith in Christ. A common thread to the stories was that many of us spent a lot of time in church, without anyone telling us about a personal relationship with Jesus. Then on Sunday, we had our kickoff Sunday for the fall/back to school season. Several people were baptized out in the parking lot and there was a picnic lunch for everyone. Beth and I had such a good time meeting and talking with people. SPC really is a family, and we know God has placed us there for a reason. Beth and I also enjoying serving together in Worship ministries. It makes for a busy Sunday morning sometimes, but it really feeds us to have a church family and church home again. We hope to be a blessing to others at SPC in the years to come. Most of all, our church family holds us up and gives us hope in the middle of life's battles. Both Beth and I are in the midst of storms at our workplaces. God has been faithful through all the chaos and our church has been a place of shelter and strength for our bruised hearts and wounded spirits.
Thank you, Lord!
